Pompeii & Vesuvius Day Trip
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Naples, the train station or the marina to begin this 7-8 hour day trip.
Following a 40-minute drive, we'll arrive at Pompeii, one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. Following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius on August 24, 79 AD, the inhabitants of the town were forever buried. Following our guide, we'll visit the buildings which were finally excavated in the 18th century: the forum, the thermal baths, and the theatre, among others. We'll even take a look at the Roman brothel, where various erotic paintings have been found.
After the guided visit of Pompeii, we'll enjoy a light lunch with soft drinks or water, and afterwards make our way to Torre del Greco, at the foot of the volcano, to begin our ascent. This ascent is worth the effort, as from its peak you can get some unbeatable views of Naples Bay.
Having descended Vesuvius, we'll return by bus to Naples, arriving after 7-8 hours of excursion.
