Private Tour of the Capodimonte Museum
Private Tour Details
Having met your guide at the Porta Grande of the Capodimonte Museum, your private tour of the art gallery will begin. You'll start by learning about the history of the museum itself, which is located in the Palace of Capodimonte, a former royal residence constructed by the Bourbon King Charles in a forest north of Naples.
After this introduction into the museum itself, you'll head to the first floor of the gallery, where you'll find the Borgia and Farnese Collections, home to masterpieces by artists such as Botticelli, El Greco, Rubens and Van Dyck. You'll also find the Porcelain Gallery and the old Armoury on this floor.
You'll then visit the second floor of the Museo di Capodimonte, where you'll be captivated by the National Gallery, which is considered to be the best place to see paintings from the Neapolitan School, and the contemporary art exhibitions.
Finally, you'll visit the modern art and photography exhibitions on the third floor, before your private guided tour of the Capodimonte Museum comes to an end after two hours.
