Want to explore northern Switzerland? On this tour from Zurich, we'll admire the famous Rhine Waterfalls and visit the picturesque town of Stein am Rhein, which borders Germany.

Tour Details

At the time indicated, we'll meet at Sihlquai bus station parking lot and, from here in Zurich, we'll head to the north of Switzerland. We can assure you that the landscapes of the northernmost part of the country will remain forever etched in your memory.

Our first stop will be at Laufen Castle. As well as tour the inside of the castle to see the Historama exhibition, from this spectacular fortress, we'll enjoy beautiful views of the Rhine Falls, one of the main natural attractions of northern Switzerlandand no wonder!

You'll have approximately one hour free to admire the waterfalls, which you can see from the castle's panoramic lift. You can also take a walk along the Belvedere path, which will take you to a viewing platform just above the falls. For those who wish, you can also take a boat trip at your own expense, although please note that this activity is only available between April and October.

After enjoying this stunning scenery, we'll continue our tour through northern Switzerland via the town of Schaffhausen, where we'll see the exterior of the imposing Munot Fortress. We'll then continue on to the medieval village of Stein am Rhein.

In this fairytale village, we'll take a walking tour through the winding streets of the old town, where we'll see the frescoes that decorate the facades of its buildings. One of the highlights is the Haus zum Weissen Adler, the House of the White Eagle, where we'll see the main Renaissance mural painting in Switzerland.

After the guided tour of Stein am Rhein, you can have a drink and stroll around the centre of this medieval town at your leisure. Finally, we'll reconvene in the centre of the village to return to the meeting point in Zurich, where we'll conclude this 5 hour and 15 minute tour.

Rhine Falls Boat Trip

If the weather allows, you can also take an optional boat trip to the Rhine Falls. The ticket price for this trip is 10 Fr (US$ 11.18) for adults, 5 Fr (US$ 5.59) for children aged 6 to 15 and free for children under 6.
