Lucerne Day Trip
Having met your guide at the Sihlquai bus terminal in Zurich, you'll set off in the direction of Lucerne. Throughout the drive, you'll be captivated by the views of Switzerland's beautiful landscapes. You'll make a stop along the journey to photograph either the stunning Lake Lucerne or the city's Lion Monument, a rock relief commemorating the Swiss Guards who died during the French Revolution.
On board the bus, you'll be kept entertained and informed with an introduction to the history of Lucerne. Your multilingual guide will point out the city's most important attractions, like the City Hall, the beautiful Jesuit Church of Lucerne, the impressive Culture and Congress Centre and the famous Chapel Bridge. This wooden walkway crossing over the River Reuss is filled with paintings dating back to the 17th century, and is the oldest wooden bridge in Europe.
In Lucerne, you'll have approximately six hours of free time to explore Lucerne at your own pace. Visit monuments like the Altes Rathaus, the Renaissance style old town hall, or the Hofkirche, also known as the Church of St. Leodegar.
At around 6 pm, you'll meet back up for the return journey to Zurich by bus.
