Lucerne and Engelberg Trip
At 9:30 am we will meet up at the Sihlquai bus station and, from this central location in Zurich, we will drive through the beautiful alpine landscapes of central Switzerland.
On the road, we will cross the Albis Pass, where the bus guide will tell you various anecdotes and facts about this beautiful area, which seems to be straight out of a fairy tale. After a brief stop at the halfway point, where you will be able to take photos of the alpine scenery, we will arrive in Lucerne. In this beautiful city, situated on the banks of the Vierwaldstättersee or Lake Lucerne, you will have approximately one hour of free time, depending on traffic conditions.
We recommend a stroll through the historic center of Lucerne, where you should not miss the little Jesuit church and the Chapel Bridge, the oldest wooden footbridge in Europe, which has been used to cross the River Reuss since the 14th century! On the other bank of the river is the town hall, another of Lucerne's must-see sights.
We continue our tour towards Engelberg. In this picturesque town, located at the foot of the iconic Mount Titlis, you will have three hours of free time for lunch and to visit its main points of interest. Particularly noteworthy is its large Benedictine monastery, which is also home to Switzerland's largest organ. Inside the monastery, you can also see its machinery for making cheese, one of the star products of this part of Switzerland.
From Engelberg, we will finally return to the original starting point in Zurich, where we will arrive at 7 pm. On the way back, the bus guide will tell you more interesting facts about the always fascinating central Switzerland.
