On our Bern Day Trip from Zürich, we'll visit the Swiss capital's beautiful historic centre, which is a World Heritage Site. We'll also learn some interesting facts about delicious Emmental cheese.
Bern Day Trip
At 8:30 am, we'll set off from the Sihlquai bus station in Zürich and head to the delightful Entlebuch Valley, an official UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. As soon as we arrive, we'll give you a bag that you'll be able to fill up with delicious Swiss products all day.
We'll also cross the Emmental Valley and continue our trip towards the Kambly Experience. In this traditional Swiss biscuit factory, we'll learn how these delicious treats are made, which we'll of course also taste. After the tasting, we'll drive to the beautiful city of Bern.
When we arrive in the Swiss capital we'll take a walking tour of the historic centre, a World Heritage Site. We'll stroll by the city's most iconic monuments, such as the Berner Münster Cathedral, the Swiss Parliament and the Zytglogge: a famous tower housing a large astronomical clock.
You'll then have around 1 hour of free time to have lunch and do some shopping in Bern. In the afternoon, we'll go to a typical Bernese farmhouse. Afterwards, we'll see some local Swiss cows and visit an Emmental cheese dairy. We'll also take an interactive tour called 'King's Way' before making a brief stop so you can take pictures of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau alpine mountains.
It'll then be the end of our day trip and time to return to Zürich, where we'll arrive back at the starting point at 7 pm.
