An extraordinary journey through the beautiful forests and lakes of the Swiss Alps awaits you on board The Gornergrat!
Description
This incredible journey begins at Zermatt Railway Station. Make a stop at one of the station's ticket offices or machines to exchange your voucher and get ready for magnificent views of the Swiss Alps!
The Gornergrat reaches a height of 3,100 metres (10,170 feet) as it travels over bridges, through tunnels, across lakes and into breathtakingly beautiful forests. As the train approaches its highest point, you'll see the imposing silhouette of the pyramid-shaped Matterhorn, one of the most recognisable mountains in the Alps.
You'll also be able to see the Gorner Glacier, Mount Liksamm, the twin Castor and Pollux summits, as well as the Monte Rosa massif, the highest peak in Switzerland. Truly spectacular!
Once we reach The Gornergrat's peak, you're free to enjoy the Alps at your leisure. You can take tons of pictures, do some hiking or just visit Gornergrat Hotel terrace viewpoint.
As a precise return time is not indicated on the train ticket, feel free to head back to Zermatt at the time of your choosing, as long as it's on the same day. Please refer to the train's schedule.
