On this day trip to the spectacular paradise island of Tumbatu from Zanzibar, we'll meet the local population, visit its ruins and snorkel in its sparkling blue waters, it'll be a blast!
Tumbatu Island Day Trip
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Zanzibar at 8 am and head to the nearest pier on the island. There, we'll board a boat that will take us to the island of Tumbatu, a very exciting day awaits us!
While sailing, we'll marvel at the beautiful scenery offered by the third largest island of the Zanzibar archipelago. Upon arrival, we'll learn about the way of life of the people of Tumbatu – did you know that their only source of energy is solar panels? In addition, we'll learn about some of the most ingrained and ancestral customs of this local population.
To continue our tour of Tumbatu we'll explore the ruins of the island, where we'll see the Shirazi constructions and the huge baobabs, which are more than 900 years old!
After exploring Tumbatu, you'll have built up an appetite. We'll take you to a local restaurant where you can indulge in a delicious traditional meal of seafood, vegetables, and rice. Once you've refreshed and recharged, we'll head back to the paradise beach for an hour of snorkeling among breathtaking corals and colorful fish swimming in the dazzling blue waters.
Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Zanzibar at about 4 pm.
