After picking you up from your hotel in Zagreb, we'll leave the Croatian capital behind and head north. After a journey of around 90 minutes we'll reach our first stop: the imposing Trakošćan Castle, a 13th-century fortress.
Following a short 90-minute drive, we'll arrive at a lush forest overlooking a lake, where we'll find the strategic Trakošćan Castle, just a few miles from the Croatian border with Slovenia. Inside the Medieval castle, we'll learn all about the history of the Drašković family, whose story is entwined with the past of this area of Europe.
We'll then continue our to tour to Varaždin, a historic city that was the capital of Croatia during the 18th century. It's affectionately known as the "Baroque city of flowers and music."
You'll have free time to explore the picturesque historic centre at your own pace and discover why it's been nicknamed the "Vienna of Croatia" by art historians. Admiring the beautiful baroque architecture, you'll feel like a member of aristocracy yourself! There will be enough time for you to try the local cuisine in the city centre too.
From Varaždin, we'll make our return to Zagreb, bringing the experience to an end at your hotel, 8 hours later.
