Are you a film-buff? Then this excursion is not to be missed. We'll leave Zacatecas for the magical town of Sombrerete, where many Mexican films have been made.
Sombrerete Tour
We'll pick you up at 8 am at your hotel in Zacatecas, and from the capital of the Mexican state of the same name, we'll head north towards the 'Pueblo Mágico' Magic Town of Sombrerete.
Upon arrival in the town we'll take a guided tour through the historic centre of Sombrerete. On this walking tour we'll contemplate the most outstanding monuments of the town, such as the churches of Santa Veracruz, Santo Domingo, San Francisco and San Juan.
After learning about the history of each of these churches, you'll have an hour free for lunch in the historic centre of Sombrerete. Asados, moles, enchiladas, pacholas... The cuisine of the state of Zacatecas is so tasty that it'll be difficult to choose just one dish.
After lunch, we'll leave Sombrerete behind and head to the amazing Sierra de Órganos National Park. Did you know that it's a real outdoor set, and no wonder! In this beautiful natural area, one of the most beautiful in the state of Zacatecas, several Mexican films have been shot, such as El cavernícola, Gringo viejo and Bienvenido paisano.
We'll learn interesting cinematographic facts about the films shot in Sombrerete and its surroundings. After learning some amazing anecdotes, we'll return to your hotel in Zacatecas, where we'll arrive at 5 pm.
