Do you want to travel back in time to a bygone era? If so, this ticket to Castle Howard in York is perfect for you. Discover the history and beauty of this stunning location!
Why Visit Castle Howard?
On your chosen day, make your way to Castle Howard in York to begin your historic, self-guided tour of this spectacular building. The structure that stands today was built in 1699 for the Carlisle Branch of the Howard Family. Get ready for an authentic historical experience!
On your self-guided tour of this magnificent country estate, you'll discover both the house and the gardens, or just the gardens, whichever you'd prefer. Inside the 300-year-old Palladian house, you'll have access to several rooms and impressive grand halls.
In the gardens, you'll enjoy the unique parkland setting that many English country houses boast. Common trees found on English country estates are the likes of oak and chestnut trees. Unique features of Castle Howard's gardens include the Temple of the Four Winds and the Mausoleum.
While on the grounds of the estate, you'll also be able to enjoy access to the Skelfe Adventure Playground, shops and cafés. We recommend spending between 3 and 4 hours at Castle Howard.
