Explore the quaint seaside town in Yorkshire and traditional moorland villages with this North York Moors Park & Whitby Day Trip. You'll be sure to enjoy the impressive views and tranquil atmosphere.

North York Moors Park & Whitby Day Trip

We'll meet opposite the Dean Court Hotel at the time indicated in York and begin our day trip with a scenic drive through the Vale of York.

Our first stop will be Kilburn White Horse Hill where you'll find out about the figure carved into the hillside in the mid 19th century. Next, we'll go to Helmsley to see the medieval castle and explore the village. 

The tour will continue into the North York Moors National Park, heading through Hutton-le-Hole past Blakey Ridge, the highest point on the Moors, and Ralph's Cross. Following on, we'll make our way to Lealholm.

We'll then head to Whitby while listening to explanations about the town's history. On arrival, we'll stop at the Captain Cook statue and Whalebone arch, then you can choose to be dropped off at the harbour or the abbey. You'll then have 3 hours free to explore Whitby and its must-see attractions including the Endeavour Experience, the Captain Cook Museum, and the Bark Endeavour. You can't leave without sampling fish and chips at the famous Magpie Café

Afterwards, the bus will take us to Goathland, where we'll learn more about the fictional locations of 'Hogsmead' from Harry Potter fame, and 'Aidensfield', from the popular British TV show Heartbeat. 

The tour will then take us to Hole of Horcum, before heading back to York arriving after 8 hours.
