Yorkshire Dales National Park Day Trip
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Duncombe Place in York, where we'll board our minibus and begin our journey to Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Our first stop will be at the charming village of Masham. Here, we'll stroll through its historic narrow streets and see the remnants of the Anglo-Saxon cross, which dates back over 1300 years!
We'll continue our journey, taking in the breathtaking lush green meadows of this region before we arrive at Grassington - famous as the fictional village of Darrowby in the English series 'All Creatures Great and Small'.
You'll have an hour of free time in Grassington, giving you the opportunity to continue exploring its streets or to grab a bite at a local café. After bidding farewell to this unique village, we'll head to the nearby Linton Falls. These enchanting waterfalls are sure to steal your heart upon arrival.
We'll return to the minibus and journey along the River Wharfe. Along the way, we'll pass through the village of Burnsall, where we'll visit the historic ruins of Barden Tower.
From there, we'll make our way to Bolton Abbey, a 12th-century abbey housing the ruins of the Augustinian Priory of Bolton. While strolling its surroundings, you'll learn all about the fascinating history of this Yorkshire gem.
Finally, we'll start our journey back to the meeting point, where we'll bring this trip to an end after 8 hours together.
