Kotagede Trip
We'll pick you up from your hotel at 8:30 am and head into the center of Yogyakarta to visit its most important site: the Sultan's Palace. Now home to almost 30,000 inhabitants. We'll walk stroll through the streets and encounter the iconic Water Castle.
We then leave Yogyakarta to go to our destination: Kotagede. After a pleasant half-hour drive, we'll arrive at the enchanting ancient Javanese village. We'll then explore the picturesque streets on the traditional means of transport, the fabulous becak!
This particular type of rickshaw will take around the market. Then, we'll visit a batik and silver factory. And we couldn't leave without also entering the magnificent Royal Cemetery and the ancient Mosque: heritage of the Kingdom of Mataram Islam. You'll learn how Kotagede was its capital in a bygone era.
We'll visit the home of a Javanese family and together we'll enjoy a delicious lunch of traditional home-made dishes. Finally, we'll return to Yogyakarta and accompany you to your accommodation where our adventure concludes at 4 pm.
