Snowshoeing Trip on Great Slave Lake
Snowshoeing Trip on Great Slave Lake
At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Yellowknife, before driving to a safe area on the shores of Great Slave Lake - the deepest lake in North America.
After a brief presentation on how to handle the equipment, we will put on our snowshoes and set off on our trek. Walking on ice is a very special experience which is difficult to explain in words - you will have to try it and see for yourself!
We will walk along the shores of the lake, using the poles and snowshoes to access terrains which would normally be inaccessible. While enjoying the icy landscapes of the Great Slave Lake, we will also see some amazing local wildlife, such as foxes and snow partridges.
If time allows, we will also walk along the frozen surface of Great Slave Lake and even explore a fantastic ice cave. We conclude our brilliant adventure with some delicious hot drinks to warm us up.
Then we'll take you back to Yellowknife, dropping you at your hotel two hours after picking you up.
