Bago Tour
At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Yangon and set off for Bago. Formerly spelled Pegu, this city was once the capital of southern Myanmar under the historic Hanthawaddy Kingdom.
Arriving in Bago, we'll delve into its streets and learn all about its history. Our first stop will be at the Shwemawdaw Pagoda, often known as the Golden God Temple. You'll be captivated by the intricate detail of the temple and its impressive stupa, which at 114 metres in height is the tallest in Myanmar.
Afterwards, we'll visit the Shwethalyaung Buddha, an enormous reclining Buddha statue that measures 55 metres in length and is is believed to have been built in 994.
From there, we'll make our way to Bago's bustling market where you'll have the opportunity to buy all kinds of local products - a great place to find souvenirs from your trip to Myanmar!
We'll then continue on our tour to Kanbawzathadi Palace, built for King Bayinnaung of the Toungoo Dynasty in the 16th century.
After visiting the palace, we'll make the return journey to Yangon, where you'll be dropped back off at your hotel at around 6 pm.
