University of Wroclaw Guided Tour
We'll meet at the blue door of the University of Wroclaw at 2:30 pm. If this door impresses you, get ready for what awaits you inside. It's a real wonder!
As we head into the museum, located in the University's most important building, its interior will amaze you. It was decorated with a marked baroque style under the order of Emperor Leopold I of Bohemia, with the main intention being to create a school dedicated to philosophy and Catholic theology.
We'll spend an hour touring the museum, stopping to look at the various works of art that decorate the rooms and hallways. Did you know that the University of Wroclaw was home to 10 Nobel Prize winners?
The tour will also take us to the Aula Leopoldina, the largest room in the whole building. This is a jewel for Poland since it is the only secular baroque space that the country preserves in such good conditions. The illusionist paintings, its decoration and its sculptures will be sure to enchant you!
During the tour, the guide will detail the importance of the Jesuit College or the Counter-Reformation, for the institution of the Austrian legacy. We'll also visit the Oratorium Marianum, the Imperial Staircase and the Mathematical Tower.
The tour will end at 3:45 pm at the museum exit.
