Sleza, Krzyzowa, Swidnica Trip
Sleza, Krzyzowa, Swidnica Trip
We leave Wroclaw first thing in the morning and then travel about 20 miles south-west to Sobótka. This small, picturesque village is located at the foot of the magnificent Mount Ślęża. We will walk around the surroundings, admiring how this beautiful mountain magically rises up from almost flat land.
Our professional guide will tell you all about the fascinating history of the pagan population that inhabited the area during the Bronze Age. We will also visit Sobótka Market Square and the ancient stone sculptures which remain a mystery to archaeologists to this very day.
Our trip through the region around Wroclaw continues at the archaeological site of Bedkowice, which was the location of the very first Slav settlement. After discovering an important part of the country's history here, we will then travel to Krzyżowa.
This tiny village holds a permanent place in the hearts of minds of the Polish people as, in November 1989, it was the setting for a difficult meeting of reconciliation between the German Chancellor and the Polish Prime Minister.
Finally, we will head to Świdnica, an idyllic town in the Lower Silesia region which is home to a treasure trove of architectural jewels. One of these elegant buildings is the Church of Peace, considered to be the largest wooden church in Central Europe.
We will return to the hotels of Wroclaw at around 4 pm.
