Ksiaz Castle, the Church of Peace and more await on our Lower Silesia Tour. We'll set off from Wroclaw and discover the historic and monumental heritage of this beautiful Polish region.
Lower Silesia Tour
We'll meet by the Pub Guinness in Plac Solny at the time indicated, and set off southbound through the beautiful scenery of Lower Silesia.
Our first stop will be in Świdnica, a picturesque city in Lower Silesia. We'll visit one of the architectural treasures of this region, which is the Church of Peace. This church, which has been declared a World Heritage Site, is considered the largest wooden church in Central Europe. Its interior has been meticulously decorated in a beautifully ornate way, with wood remaining the predominant material.
We'll then continue to the magnificent Ksiaz Castle, where we'll take a tour. As we explore this medieval fortress, we'll learn about the history of its previous inhabitants, which includes nobles, aristocrats and dukes. During our visit, we'll discover the mysterious past of the castle, which became the main focus of a Nazi project called "The Giant". We'll also visit the Ksiaz gardens and greenhouses, where we'll see an extensive botanical collection.
After you've explored Ksiaz Castle we'll head to Jawor to visit its Church of Peace. This Church of Peace has a fascinating history, as the Treaty of Westphalia allowed the construction of churches for Protestant Lutherans, but they had to be in the outskirts of the cities and be built with perishable materials. When you step inside, you'll be awestruck by its unique colours, boxes and beauty, which was built using wood and not a single nail.
After around 8 hours, we'll arrive back at the pickup point in Wroclaw.
