Krzeszow and Bolkow Castle Trip
Kreszow and Bolkow Castle Trip
At the designated time, we'll collect you from the bus stop on Kazimierza Wilekiego Street in central Breslavia, where we begin our trip back into Poland's past.
After a pleasant drive of one hour and a half, we will arrive at the magnificent Bolków Castle, which dates back to the 13th century. We learn all about the history of Duke Boleslao II Rogatka and his son during a fascinating one-hour guided tour inside. You will discover that this bastion was one of the most important in the historical region of Silesia.
Then we will continue on the road to Krzeszow Abbey, a building run by Cistercian monks until it was secularized by the Prussian state in the 19th century. You'll get an audio guide in English to visit the Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin and the elegant Church of St. Joseph. In both, you will discover why this monumental complex is the jewel of Polish Baroque.
You will then have free time to have a tasty lunch in the village of Krzeszow (not included). Afterwards, we'll head to the village of Chełm Śląski, a former linen weaver's village. You will be amazed by the traditional wooden houses that remain standing from the 18th century!
After exploring this idyllic location for half an hour, we will set out for Wroclaw, where we will arrive back at the original meeting point after a total of seven to eight hours.
