Auschwitz-Birkenau Day Trip

  • 69 reviews | 578 travellers
A very good activity. It takes a little over 2 hours but it is worth it. The guided tours are by language and time, but we were lucky that our Civitatis guide (Matías) acted as a translator for the official Polish guide. The queues should be better organised, although that depends on the Memorial.

Auschwitz-Birkenau Full-Day Trip

“One day this terrible war will be over. The time will come when we’ll be people again and not just Jews.” This phrase written by Anne Frank, victim of the Holocaust, is worth remembering when visiting the two former camps: Auschwitz and Birkenau.

Travel to Oświęcim in the south of Poland by bus and experience the worldwide symbol of terror on a full-day trip to the site where 1.5 million victims were murdered during the Second World War.

Upon arrival, visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum accompanied by a knowledgeable English-speaking guide and relive the most tragic events of the Holocaust. Continue to Auschwitz I, where you will go back in time and feel like a prisoner as you visit the terrifying gas chambers and crematoria. Then, spend one hour exploring the site at your own pace.

Afterwards, follow your guide to the second part of the largest extermination camp established in Europe: Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Designed as a massive killing facility, the site still harbors its haunting past. As you wander through the barracks and the various parts of the concentration camp, you’ll acquire a deeper understanding of the events that took place here between 1940 and 1945.

Overwhelmed by how far human cruelty and injustice can go, we will head back to Wrocław., where you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Pickup Times
