Windsor Walking Tour
Tour Details
At the appointed time, we'll meet in front of Windsor Guildhall to begin our walking tour of Windsor and get to know the top sites of this beautiful city on the banks of the River Thames.
First up, we'll stroll through the streets of the historic center. Walking down the cobblestoned lanes, we'll learn about key historical moments in Windsor, like when William I of England claimed the city after the battle of 1066 and how Queen Elizabeth II chose the city as her official residence.
Next, we'll approach Windsor Castle, which has witnessed more than 1,000 years of history. Close by, we'll see the famous Eton College, a prestigious institution that bears the royal seal, and has since its founding in 1440 by Henry VI.
We'll continue touring this beautiful city as we move along Thames Street and arrive at The Crooked House. As its name suggests, this crooked-looking building has become one of the most popular places in the city.
Finally, we'll conclude the guided tour of Windsor in the surroundings of Castle Hill after a 1.5-hours of sightseeing.
