Kraków Day Trip + Wieliczka Salt Mine
Day Trip Details
First thing in the morning, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Warsaw and set off to Poland's most visited city: Kraków . During the almost 4-hour journey, we'll tell you about the history of the second most important city in the country and provide practical information about the monuments we'll see during our tour.
Our first stop will be at the Wieliczka Salt Mines, one of the most surprising attractions in Kraków. We'll explore this maze-like complex with over 300 galleries that will lead us to the underground lakes and rooms decorated with salt figures.
As we walk through the mines, you'll be amazed by each room in this underground wonderland. At the end of the tour, we'll reach the most fascinating part of Wieliczka: St. Kinga's Chapel. This 177-foot (54-meter) chapel is decorated solely with salt figures!
We'll return above ground and stop for lunch before heading to Kraków's historic center. Here, you'll enjoy a scenic tour that will take you to the Gothic-style St. Mary's Church, the Jagiellonian University, the walls of the old town, and the Old Town Market Place. Did you know this market is the largest in Europe?
We'll also enter the Wawel Cathedral to admire its beautiful interior and stroll through the Jewish Quarter, the district with the darkest history in Kraków. Afterward, we'll start our journey back to Warsaw.
