Visiting Marken
Marken is a small village in the Netherlands situated on a peninsula, which used to be an island. From the port, you can take a pleasant walk to the main points of interest in the town, such as the Grote Kerk church, the Marken Museum and, above all, the famous Klompenmakerij clogs factory.
It's also worth visiting the Het Paard van Marken lighthouse, a 25-minute walk from the port and a 10-minute bike ride. This tower, used to guide boats sailing on the lake at night, is one of Marken's main tourist attractions.
