Itinerary
At the scheduled time you'll be collected from your hotel and brought to Ibiraçu. Get ready to see the biggest Buddha statues in the West!
Upon arriving at your destination, you'll visit Portal do Buddhista square, where the most famous attractions of the area are found, such as the giant Buddha, the famous Torii square, and the 15 statues of the meditating Buddhas and the Grove of Wisdom.
The Statue of the Giant Buddha's measurements are sure to leave you gobsmacked. The whole structure reaches a height of 38 metres (124.67 feet), making it one of the biggest Buddha statues in the whole world, only being surpassed by that of the one located in Hong Kong. It's even bigger than Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro!
You'll continue to learn more about the area as you stroll around. You will then head to Torii Square, inaugurated in 2004 to commemorate the 30-year anniversary of the Zen Morro da Vargem Monastery. This site is dedicated to the community for its use in meditation. Moreover, you'll visit the great Torii gate, which represents a symbol of dialogue between Eastern and Western cultures.
Finally, you'll visit the statue of the 15 meditating Buddhas, representatives of serenity that should be acquired in moments of adversity.
After an hour of visiting the marvellous site that is Ibiraçu, you'll return to the point where the tour began. The tour will end approximately 4 hours after the scheduled start time.
