Tour Options

During the booking process, you can choose between the following routes. Both start and end at the indicated time in Viñales Square and include a guide. Below, you'll find a brief description of each option:

3-Hour Tour

We'll leave from the main street, and head towards our first destination of the day: the Mural of Prehistory. As soon as we arrive, we'll contemplate this immense work painted on the Pita Mogote in the Dos Hermanas Valley. We'll spend approximately 20 minutes admiring its intricate details, capturing photos, and discussing the history behind this remarkable 1961 creation.

Continuing the route, we'll head to the Camino del Cuajaní, a path that winds between the mural and the Dos Hermanas camping area. Get your cameras ready, the scenery there is beautiful!

Next, we'll arrive at the viewpoint of the Sierra de la Guasasa, where we'll pause for 10 minutes to contemplate the scenery dotted with karst mountains covered with the intense vegetation and some crops of the region. Afterward, we'll head to Laguna de Piedra, passing through extensive tobacco and coffee fields, while we talk to you about the cultivation methods that have been passed down from generation to generation.

The tour will then take us to the Jutías Valley, where we'll visit a coffee farm. Here, we'll enjoy a tasting so we can appreciate the flavors of Cuban coffee. We'll continue until we reach the República de Chile community, the first cooperative inaugurated by Fidel Castro.

From here, we'll pass by peasant houses and crops until we take the road that will take us into the dense tropical forest. We'll be able to contemplate the endemic flora and fauna as we head towards the Viñales Cemetery route.

5-Hour Tour

With the roar of the buggy engines, we'll go in search of the Valley of Silence in a first stretch of 3 kilometers (1.5 miles) that runs along a forest road. We'll make our first stop to admire the limestone mogotes, witnesses of the passage of time and the geological history of Viñales.

Then, we'll resume the route reaching El Yayal. Here we'll make another stop to enjoy the surroundings and the panoramic view, a typical postcard image of rural Cuba!

Next, we'll continue the tour to the Los Camejos farm. For approximately 20 minutes, we'll visit its facilities to learn about the life of the farmers, see the farm animals, tour the fields and visit the bohíos, traditional circular huts of the Tainos.

Afterward, we'll return to the buggies to begin a 16-kilometer (10-mile) route along a riverbed and winding roads that will take us to Pinar Llano. To rest we'll take a break at a viewpoint, from where we'll contemplate the landscape dotted with green meadows. Then, we'll head towards the village of La Majagua.

Along the way, we'll see how the landscape will change between pine forests and the Albino Dam, a majestic mirror of water that reflects the beauty of the environment.
