Villanueva de los Infantes Private Tour
We'll meet at the indicated time at Plaza Mayor, next to the statue of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. From here, we'll begin our private tour of Villanueva de los Infantes, which will take us through the most emblematic monuments of the municipality of La Mancha.
First, we'll visit the interior of the Church of San Andrés Apóstol to see its imposing ribbed ceilings and learn about the place where Francisco de Quevedo was buried for more than 150 years. Then we'll also visit the interior of the patio of the Alhóndiga and Casa de los Estudios which stands out for its beautiful groined vaults.
We'll continue the tour at Casa del Caballero del Verde Gabán, a historic mansion that, according to legend, appears in Don Quixote de la Mancha. If available, we'll admire its beautiful Castilian courtyard before heading to the Palacio del Marqués de Melgarejo to admire its impressive classicist façade.
We then continue walking through Villanueva de los Infantes until we come across the lintel doorway of the Vicarage of the Order of Santiago, the Convent of Dominicas de la Encarnación, as well as Casa Solar de los Bustos, where we'll discuss its heraldry. Finally, we'll visit the interior of the Convent of Santo Domingo to see its atypical brick cloister and the cell where Quevedo died.
Finally, after a 2 to 3-hour tour, we'll end the tour at this last point.
