Talampaya National Park Hiking Tour
Description
During the booking process, you can select from one of the following hiking routes in Talampaya National Park. Each hike, complete with transportation from the meeting point and a Spanish-speaking guide, begins at the designated time from Águila Base.
All three routes are moderately difficult, with varying durations:
Lost City (3 hours)
We'll set off from the meeting point and make our way toward the Lost City of Talampaya. Upon arrival, we'll leave our vehicle behind and embark on a 1 hour 45 minute hike.
During this exploration of the Lost City, you'll witness some of the most remarkable geological formations in Talampaya National Park. As you'll soon notice, these striking red rock formations lend their name to the province where we find ourselves: La Rioja, in northwestern Argentina.
Rainbow Canyon (4 hours)
Following your pickup at the meeting point, we'll make our way to one of Talampaya National Park's most awe-inspiring gorges. We'll park our vehicle at the trailhead and begin a hiking route lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes, leading to the Rainbow Canyon.
As its name suggests, this canyon is renowned for the rich array of colors within its rock formations. As we approach the canyon, you'll have the chance to better appreciate the rocks' diverse colors, which are the result of various natural factors that you'll uncover throughout the walk.
Lost City and Rainbow Canyon (4.5 hours)
This combo tour, lasting a total of 4.5 hours, allows us to explore the best of both the above itineraries. Our hike through Talampaya will span 1 hour and 45 minutes as we combine all the wonders of the two routes mentioned earlier into one unforgettable experience.
In this scenario, we'll first visit the Rainbow Canyon before embarking on a journey to admire the geological marvels of the Lost City of Talampaya.
