Spring Windmill and El Infiernito Tour
Spring Windmill and El Infiernito Tour
You'll be picked you up at your hotel in Valle de Leyva at the agreed time where we'll board the minibus to the Escondido Valley, a 2 square kilometre plateau bathed by the Cané River.
We'll observe the beautiful and scenic journey that takes us there until reaching the Molino de la Primavera, a two-story house where you'll discover the stone milling process. Prepare for an exciting experience! Afterwards, we'll go and participate in a game of Tejo (shuffleboard). An old tradition in which you throw a metal ball into a clay court. Are you ready to test your skills?
After a walk through the trails that surround Villa de Leyva, we'll soon reach El Infiernito, also known as the astronomical observatory of Muisca. As we stroll through this plain dotted with phallic monoliths, we'll talk about the importance of these fertility symbols for the local culture as well as see how they stand over 13 feet (4 metres) tall!
Finally, we'll take you back to the hotel, where we'll arrive four hours after the start of the activity.
