In this excursion from Villa Carlos Paz, we'll visit the tunnels of the Altas Cumbres of Cordoba. Plus, we'll visit the city of Mina Clavero, one of the great tourist centers of the Traslasierra Valley!
Altas Cumbres Tunnels & Mina Clavero Tour
At 7 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Villa Carlos Paz and head towards the western area of the Argentine province of Córdoba.
During the route, which will be 279.6 miles (450 km) along mountain roads that reach 6,561.5 ft (2,000 meters) of altitude, we'll cross the famous tunnels of the High Sierras of Cordoba. How were these tunnels built into the mountains? Why are they important? We'll find out while we admire how the morning light illuminates this beautiful landscape.
On this journey through the Altas Cumbres, we'll also observe Andean condors, the kings of the skies in this area of South America. As we get deeper into the mountain roads, we'll see more and more of these large birds, whose wingspan can reach up to 10 ft (3 meters), flying high in the sky.
We'll continue our route through the Sierras of Córdoba towards the town of Mina Clavero, where, after getting to know its mountain scenery, you'll have lunch on your own. In the afternoon, we'll start our way back watching the sunset over the Altas Cumbres – a truly stunning sight.
Finally, at 7 pm, we'll drop you back off at your hotel in Villa Carlos Paz.
