South Iceland Quad Bike Tour

  • 2 reviews | 41 travellers
The tour was very complete and fluid. Miguel, the guide, had very integrated the information he shared with us and despite it being a 2 and a half hour tour it was very enjoyable. He is a great communicator and we really enjoyed the city of Reykjavik thanks to his explanations, curiosities and anecdotes. Thanks a million, activity to recommend 100x100.

South Iceland Quad Bike Tour

At your chosen time, we'll meet at the base camp of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Once we've all arrived, we'll put our thermal clothing on and listen to the instructor as they explain how to drive the quad bikes. Let's go!

We'll get on our quad bikes and set off along Iceland's southern coast to explore some of the country's most spectacular scenery. First of all, we'll need to cross small rivers and streams until we find ourselves at the famous black sandy beaches near the Katla volcano.

As we continue driving our quad bikes, we'll soon reach one of the iconic symbols of this part of Iceland. This would be Sólheimasandur Beach and the abandoned plane wreck that lies here. We'll take a break here and discuss the history of the plane crash.

Afterwards, we'll return to our bikes and continue exploring the south coast of Iceland as we head towards the Dyrhólaey cliffs. Once we've reached the southernmost point of the country, we'll traverse the Jökulsá River to see Mount Heiðarhorn.

From here, we'll start our journey back to the base camp in Vík, where we'll arrive 1 hour after our departure.
