Explore the Upper Belvedere Palace on this guided tour, admiring masterpieces by Klimt and Monet, and strolling through stunning baroque gardens.

Tour Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the main entrance of the Upper Belvedere Palace, ready to start our guided tour. Are you ready to explore this architectural gem?

Built in the 18th century by Prince Eugene of Savoy, the Belvedere Palace is one of Europe’s most significant Baroque palace complexes. Designed by Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt, the Upper and Lower Belvedere are connected by an exquisite garden, with the Upper Belvedere originally serving as a reception and banquet hall. Here, we'll find the design reflects a blend of French and Italian influences.

Today, the palace is home to one of Austria’s finest art collections. Thanks to our skip-the-line tickets, we’ll head straight inside. Accompanied by our guide, we'll visit the Art Gallery, with a range of artwork from medieval times to the 19th century. Among the highlights are pieces by renowned artists such as Monet, Van Gogh, Munch, Goya, and Schiele. The gallery also boasts the world’s largest collection of works by Gustav Klimt, including his famous painting “The Kiss”, as well as “Judith” and “Sonja Knips”.

After contemplating all these pieces, we will visit the Marble Hall, an impressive room steeped in history, where the Austrian State Treaty was signed in 1955. Its ceiling has a magnificent fresco by Carlo Carlone, completed in 1723—you'll be amazed by it!

We'll then stroll through the beautiful palace gardens, featuring fountains, statues, and carefully designed flowerbeds. From here, we'll take in breathtaking views of the palace and the city of Vienna.

Finally, after a total of 1.5 hours, we'll bring the tour to an end.
