What Can I Expect?
On the day of the activity, we'll meet in the centre of Vienna, where we'll hop on a comfortable bus. Let the adventure begin!
Dürnstein Castle
One of our first stops will be at the world-famous medieval ruins of the Dürnstein Castle. As legend has it, it was here that Richard of Lionheart was once held captive before he was freed by his faithful squire. You'll have 1 hour of free time in the grounds, so explore away at your own pace!
Krems Wine Region
Our next stop will be in Krems, an enchanting wine region nestled in the UNESCO-listed Wachau Valley. This region beckons with its historical charm and scenic beauty, inviting you to fall in love with its rich heritage and picturesque landscapes!
Melk City
Our last stop on this tour is in the charming and compact city of Melk, which boasts a remarkable array of architectural styles spanning centuries. The standout landmark is perhaps the grand baroque Benedictine monastery, Melk Abbey. With 1.5 hours of free time, you can explore the abbey at your leisure.
Boat trip on the Danube
During the summer season, from mid-April to the end of October, a boat ride on the Danube River will be included in the tour. For the rest of the year, this activity will be exchanged for a guided tour of Melk Abbey.
