Xalapa, Xico & Coatepec Tour

Come and explore three significant towns in the state of Veracruz. On this tour to Xalapa, Xico and Coatepec we'll visit coffee plantations and haciendas.

Xalapa, Xico and Coatepec Tour

We'll begin our tour in Xalapa, the capital of the state, where we'll visit the ex-hacienda El Lencero. We'll explore its large coffee plantations and beautiful gardens as well as a stunning lake. We'll also appreciate delicate furniture of the period, antique objects and some belongings of Antonio Lopez de Santana, ex-president of Mexico who lived in this beautiful house. Its first owner was a soldier of Hernán Cortés named Juan Lencero. After this visit, you'll enjoy a panoramic tour around the most interesting places in this city, such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral, University Zone, Paseo de los Lagos, and the Juarez Park.

Then we head to Xico, a magical world of ancestral traditions and legends, surrounded by green hills and mountains at 2,800 meters above sea level. We'll visit the Parish Church of Maria Magdalena from the 16th century and admire its Neoclassical style façade. We'll also see the Patio de las Palomas where there's a collection of more than 400 elegant and beautifully embroidered dresses of the Magdalena, patron saint of Xico. You'll find its façades and streets decorated for these patron saint festivities.

As we wander through its cobbled streets, we'll enjoy exquisite food like the famous 'mole xiqueño' of the region. Continuing our tour we'll arrive at the Texolo Waterfall, a place of exuberant natural beauty. We'll also pass by coffee plantations and haciendas. Here your guide will be able to give you some suggestions.

Afterwards we drive to Coatepec known for its high altitude coffee, as it is located at 1,250 meters above sea level. We'll visit the coffee museum for a coffee tasting and we'll learn about the different types of coffee.

Finally, after 11 hours of activity, we'll end the tour.
