Boca del Rio Excursion & Mandinga Boat Ride
At 11:30 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Veracruz and drive to the historic center of Boca del Rio. In this town on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico, many pirates of the 17th century became as popular as they were hated. Do you know who was the most feared? Join us to find out!
We'll begin our tour of Boca del Rio by visiting the Pirate Museum. Its exhibition houses numerous objects such as ship models, flags, hats, and typical garments of the time. In this interactive museum, we'll also learn about various legends related to secret treasures!
After learning about the history of the pirates, we'll continue our tour of Boca del Rio by visiting the Municipal Money Museum. Its numismatic collection is one of the most important in the state of Veracruz. We'll see different displays of money corresponding to different periods of Mexico.
Our tour through the old town of Boca del Rio will continue at the Museum of Homeland and Liberty, where we'll continue to delve into the history of Mexico. Afterwards, we'll travel to the fishing village of Mandinga. Here you'll have an hour at leisure to enjoy its exquisite gastronomy.
Following lunch, we'll learn various curiosities about the local nature and then enjoy a boat ride on the Mandinga Lagoon. You're sure to be enchanted by its green landscapes with numerous mangroves!
