What better way to see the "City of Canals" than by passing through its most famous and historical spots? Discover the fascinating past of the Serene Republic on this guided tour of Venice.

Tour Details

Our guided tour of Venice will begin at the designated time at Larga Ascensione Street, in front of the post office in St. Mark's Square: the epicenter of the city. St Mark's Basilica can be found in this square, as well as the Doge's Palace, home to the former doges and the most representative building of the Venetian Gothic period.

We'll also see from the square the stunning St. Mark's Clock Tower, and the 3 buildings which form "the Procuratie," icons of the Serene Republic time.

The tour will continue toward Santa Maria Formosa, one of the most storied squares in all of Venice. Here one can find the church of Santa Maria Formosa, dating back to the 7th century. Did you know its construction began due to a request from the Virgin Mary to the Bishop of Oderzo? You'll see it's one of the prettiest churches in the "Floating City."

The next step on the tour will take us to the Campo de SS. Giovanni e Paolo, where the Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo known as the "Pantheon" stands. Next to this monument, you'll see the Scuola dell Carità complex, home of the Gallerie dell'Accademia.

To really travel back in time and see the city's art, we'll reach the Malibran Theatre, one of the most important theatres of the 17th and 18th centuries. As you admire its facade, we'll tell you the origin of its name. Did you know it was inaugurated during the 1678 carnival

The tour will end back at St. Mark's Square, having passed through Le Mercerie: the main commercial artery of the city, and one of its most lively streets. We'll say our goodbyes at this location after this 1.5-hour tour.
