    We had on excellent time in Venice. Graziella was a tremendous guide. She was with us the whole time, but also gave us the freedom to roam around freely. Our group was separated by cars on the train but she made sure to check on us often by WhatsApp or in person. I would highly recommend this trip for a day in Venice.

Located in Venice's famous St Mark's Square, St Mark's Basilica is an outstanding example of Venetian architecture, combining Byzantine, Romanesque, and Gothic influences.

History

The original St Mark's Basilica was built between 828 and 832 to house the body of St Mark the Apostle, whose body was smuggled from Alexandria. The construction of the present structure began in 1063, though it has undergone a series of transformations since then.
