Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the meeting point to enter two of Venice's most emblematic buildings. Are you ready?
First, we'll visit the famous Doge's Palace, a building that for centuries represented the great political power of Venice. The building served for hundreds of years as the official residence of the Doges, the highest leaders of the Republic of Venice. We'll explain the power held by these leaders as we enter the palace.
We'll walk through the different rooms of this residence, see the great golden staircase, and admire works by famous painters such as Titian, Tintoretto, and Bellini. We'll also cross the Bridge of Sighs to visit the dungeons, which will give you goosebumps!
The second part of the tour will be dedicated to visiting the St. Mark's Basilica Museum. We'll go back to the year 828 to talk about the origins of the Basilica as we walk through the different museum rooms.
During the tour, we'll be able to see up close the beautiful mosaics of the temple and the four Horses of St. Mark. Did you know that these bronze sculptures were brought as booty from Constantinople? We'll tell you all about them.
After almost 2 hours and 30 minutes, we'll finish our tour in St. Mark's Square. If you are looking for a more comprehensive tour, check out this tour of Venice.
