We'll meet at the scheduled time at the Campo San Gallo, and from there we'll make our way to the former residence of the Doge of Venice to begin this exciting tour of the mysteries and legends of the Ducal Palace. Ready to uncover these secrets?
We'll begin this tour by discovering the meaning behind the mysterious pink columns. Then, we'll make our way to the anti-chamber to see how the former ambassadors were entertained. The tour will then continue in the bedroom of the three leaders. We're sure that the legend of this room will surprise you!
As we admire the works of Titian and Tintoretto, we'll continue discovering other secrets of Venice's Ducal Palace. For this, we'll cross the Bridge of Sighs, called so because of the wailing of convicts who were taken to prison.
One of the best-known convicts also happened to be one of the most infamous lovers in the city. We'll learn all about Casanova's escape and the methods used at the time to intimidate those who were being interrogated.
Finally, after 50 minutes, we'll bring this tour to an end at the main entrance to the Ducal Palace.
Entry to the Piazza San Marco Museums
Once the the mysteries and legends of the Ducal Palace tour has ended, you'll be given priority access tickets for the museums in Piazza San Marco: Correr Museum, Archaeological Museum and the National Martian Library. Please keep in mind that visits to these museums will be done without a guide.
The visit to the Correr Museum can be taken on the same day as the tour of the Doge's Palace, or the day after.
The rest of the museums at Piazza San Marco can be visited on whichever day you'd like, but keep in mind that the National Martian Library closes on Sundays.
You may only enter each museum once.
