On this excursion to Burano, Murano and Torcello, visit the most famous islands of Venice at your own pace. These three places will steal your heart!
Burano, Murano & Torcello Self-Guided Excursion
We'll depart at the indicated time from a pier in the center of Venice, where we'll board a boat and set sail across the beautiful Venetian Lagoon, towards the most famous and ancient islands in Venice. On each island, you'll have 1 hour of free time to immerse yourself in the colorful streets!
During the journey on the boat, we'll admire incredible views of Venice's old quarter. Admire the stunning seascapes as we sail full-speed ahead towards our first stop of the day.
Once in Murano, possibly the most famous island of the three due to its world-renowned Murano glassblowing techniques. Here, you'll get the chance to see the inside of a glass workshop, and then you'll have another 30 minutes of free time to explore the island. In total, we'll have about 1 hour on the island.
Then we'll head to Burano, where you can stroll along its ancient canals and through its streets full of colorful houses. According to legend, it was the fishermen living on the island who painted their houses in this striking way to be able to recognize them on foggy days. Later, you can enter the lace stores, or as they say in Burano, merletto.
After that, we'll make our way back to the boat and head to Torcello, the oldest island in the Venetian Lagoon. At the height of its splendor, it was more populated than Venice itself. Today Torcello is a beautiful, peaceful retreat where you can still find its decadent and authentic air. Here you can explore its streets, and visit places such as Attila's Throne and the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta.
Finally, we'll return to Venice, concluding the tour at the pier you choose upon booking.
