When booking, you can choose between three options to snorkel in Sao Jorge. All include pickup, transport, an English-speaking guide, and snorkeling equipment. Below you can see the details of each one:
Snorkeling in the Simão Dias Natural Pool (4 hours)
We'll set out for the Fajã de Ouvidor viewpoint to enjoy magnificent views of the northern coast of Sao Jorge. Then, we'll go down to the coast to start a snorkeling experience in the Simão Dias natural pool.
Once in the water, we'll see all kinds of species, such as turtles or tuna. We'll also see some peculiar shapes in the cracks of the rocks of the pool! After 1.5 hours of diving, you'll be able to investigate, rest and have a drink on your own before being taken to the collection point.
Snorkeling in Urzelina (4 hours)
After picking you up, we'll head to the municipality of Urzelina, to snorkel and explore the waters of the southern part of the island of Sao Jorge. With our gear on, we'll start a 1.5-hour tour to admire the volcanic basalt rocks, the cavities in the cliffs, and the colorful schools of fish - we might even spot a few dolphins! Afterwards, you can enjoy some free time to eat and relax before finishing the activity.
Snorkeling in Sao Jorge (4 hours)
If you choose this option, we'll snorkel at different locations in Sao Jorge. We'll head for the Fajã de Ouvidor viewpoint, to make a brief stop to admire the immensity of the Atlantic.
Then, we'll arrive at the Simão Dias natural pool. We'll explore the bottom of this crystalline water pool. As well as watching different species, you'll be able to jump into the water from the rocks.
Next, we'll set off on a journey through the volcanic mountains to reach the Fajã de Santo Amaro beach. There, you'll snorkel and encounter white marlins, turtles, swordfish, and manta rays - the underwater landscapes are truly spectacular! Next, we'll go to the Urzelina area, where the most adventurous can approach a shipwreck from World War II!
