Havana Trip
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Varadero before heading to Havana. As soon as we arrive, you'll be seduced by the capital's charming colonial streets, lined with wonderful Cadillacs from the 1940s.
First, we'll head into the Historical Center of Havana, where you'll encounter the port and Morro Castle, the imposing Spanish fortress that protected the city against pirate attacks. We then walk through the cobbled streets of Old Havana passing the City Museum and the Model of Havana. You'll have free time to browse the wonderful markets or visit some of the local bars that Ernest Hemingway used to frequent in the first half of the 20th century.
Then we take a break to taste the Cuban gastronomy with a delicious traditional meal. Feeling energized once more, we continue on our route through Havana. We'll arrive at the magnificent neoclassical El Capitolio building, inspired by the Pantheon in Paris and the Capitol in Washington, and which dominates the city's skyline.
We'll see the outside of the main points of interest in the area: the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of the Revolution, and the Grand Theatre. During the tour, our local guide will tell you about the history of Cuba, from its foundation in the 16th century to the days following the Revolution.
On this tour, we'll also tour modern Havana, with its fashionable neighborhoods overlooking the famous Malecón esplanade. As we leave behind the breathtaking scenery of the waterfront, we'll arrive at the Plaza de la Revolución square, where the famous giant portrait of Che Guevara by artist Enrique Ávila is located. Here, we'll also admire the elegant Monument to José Martí, the tallest building in the city.
At the end of the guided tour, we'll take you back to your hotel in Varadero.
