An excellent activity from start to finish. We were picked up by a friendly and helpful driver, (Edo) who took us to the market to buy some fresh produce. The horse-drawn carriage experience was fun and our 12 year old son really enjoyed it! We were made to feel very comfortable at the cook school. In the rum cocktail masterclass we made a range of delicious drinks! We helped with the preparation of food in the cooking class. The dishes were the best we ate in Cuba. A fantastic experience!

Indulge your tastebuds in the best of Cuban cuisine with this cooking class in Cárdenas. You'll learn to make local delicacies and prepare mouth-watering cocktails!

Varadero Cuban Cooking Class

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the entrance of the Happy Bar in Cárdenas. Then, we'll take a pleasant horse and carriage ride to see the town centre and buy some of the ingredients for the cooking class.

We'll then head to the house where the cooking class takes place, where we'll be welcomed by the family who will lead the workshop. After getting settled, you'll have the opportunity to cool off in the swimming pool.

Our hosts will give us a short introduction into the typical Cuban recipes that we'll prepare, and it'll then be time to put our theory into practice and begin cooking - grab your apron!

After making a number of mouth-watering dishes, we'll get to taste them. What's more, we'll learn to prepare three Cuban cocktails, including the famous mojito. Cheers!

After 4 hours of foodie fun, the activity will come to an end.

I had a fantastic experience. Despite the class traditionally including meat dishes, the instructors and fellow participants were incredibly supportive and accommodating of my dietary preferences. They went above and beyond to ensure that I had delicious vegan alternatives to every meal. One of the highlights was getting to taste a variety of local fruits, which added an authentic touch to the culinary experience. I highly recommend this cooking class to anyone, vegan or not.

This was a fantastic trip. No words can say how much we enjoyed the whole experience. Loved the look around Cardenas. Our hosts Eddo and Cynthia were just brilliant. The food and cocktail preparation was such fun and the meal sooooo tasty. If you can only do one excursion do this one as in our opinion you will not be disappointed....

We had an excellent time. Would recommend to everyone, and we have. From the pick up to the drop off we were happy. We went to the street market and shopped with the Cuban people. They were all so nice and polite. We took a buggy ride to the restaurant for the cooking lesson. We help prepare the vegetables. We learned to make some Cuban drinks. We ate and discussed life. It was a tiny glimpse in to the way Cuban people live. Very laid back and enjoying what they have. 11/10 would book again.
