Vancouver Street Art Tour & Coffee Workshop
Description
At the time indicated, we'll meet in Olympic Village Square, next to The Birds sculpture. Are you ready to discover Vancouver's colourful murals?
Before admiring these urban works of art, we'll head to a local bar and enjoy an artisan coffee workshop. An expert in the subject will give a lesson on coffee bean roasting. We'll also learn some fun facts about this famous drink.
At the end of the workshop, we'll enjoy a coffee from this establishment. Then, we'll start our walk around the area in search of the city's incredible and thought-provoking murals. Let's go!
We'll start this street art tour in Vancouver learning about the difference between graffiti, considered acts of vandalism, and artistic murals. We'll focus on the latter and learn about how these masterpieces represent an act of socio-cultural revindication.
After a brief introduction, we'll start walking to the murals in Mount Pleasant. In this neighbourhood, characterised by its alternative shops and restaurants, we'll admire many urban murals. We'll stop by several and try to decipher the symbolism and meaning that the artist is trying to communicate.
Finally, we'll make a stop for a beer before returning to the initial meeting point 3 hours after the start of the tour.
