Vancouver Guided Tour
Vancouver Guided Tour
We'll meet at the Georgian Court Hotel at the indicated time, where we'll begin our guided tour of Vancouver. Are you ready to discover the city's charms? Let's go!
Our first stop will be Stanley Park, the green heart of Vancouver, whose best-known attraction is a collection of totem poles. These are reproductions of original works engraved by local indigenous tribes and are now on display in various museums. While admiring the park and its artefacts, we'll also tell you about the history of these tribes.
After admiring the totem poles, we'll go to Prospect Point, a lookout point located in the northern part of the park, from where we'll enjoy incredible views of Stanley Park.
Our tour will then continue to Granville Island, an area that has become Vancouver's cultural and artistic centre since the 1970s. Here, you'll find the Public Market, which offers fresh produce and speciality foods, and you'll see theatres, workshops and artists' studios.
Another of the historic neighbourhoods we'll visit is Chinatown, also known as Golden Village, where we'll learn about its historical importance as the main centre of Vancouver's Chinese community. To the west of the neighbourhood, we'll enter Gastown, originally the old town, now considered a National Historic Site. Once in the neighbourhood, we'll take a stroll along its cobblestone streets, admiring the city's oldest architecture and see important monuments such as the statue of Gassy Jack Deighton and the steam clock.
Not far away, we'll arrive at Canada Place, a waterfront building that stands out in the Vancouver skyline. Did you know that its white sails are often compared to those of the Sydney Opera House?
To conclude the tour, we'll go to English Bay, which overlooks English Bay Beach. Here, we'll contemplate the bay's beaches and watch locals walking or cycling along the seawall.
Finally, we'll take you back to the starting point after a total of 3.5 hours.
Important
Please note that the Granville Island Public Market closes on December 26th and every Monday in January. In this case, we will make an alternative stop.
