Funicular Tour of Valparaiso
We'll pick you up from your accommodation at the indicated time, before starting our very special tour of Valparaiso. The Chilean city is famous for its funicular railways that run up the hillsides. We'll explore the different neighbourhoods in these historic elevators.
During the tour, you'll hear all about the origins of this fascinating form of public transport and, of course, we'll have the opportunity to climb on one of the oldest in Valparaiso. We'll visit Barrio Puerto and Cerro Cordillera with its Cordillera and San Agustin funiculars. You'll be amazed to see them crawling up and down the hillside!
Next, we'll go to Cerro Alegre with its famous Concepción elevator, the first one to be inaugurated which is connected to one of the most important viewpoints of the city. There, we'll enjoy a spectacular panorama of the coastline.
At the end of our tour, we'll have ridden in the seven funiculars in Valparaiso that are still in operation today, as well as explored the hills they connect with.
Our tour will end back at your hotel after 4.5 hours of activity.
Tour without Pickup
If you prefer, you can opt for the tour without pickup. In this case, at 10:30 am or 3:30 pm (depending on your selection), you'll meet the guide at Plaza Sotomayor in Valparaíso.
