Barrio Puerto and Cerro Cordillera Free Tour
At 12 noon, we'll meet at Plaza Sotomayor to start our free tour of Barrio Puerto and Cerro Cordillera. Are you ready to travel to the Valparaíso of the 19th century? Let's go!
The guide will start by telling us about the origins of this port city by admiring the area's characteristic architecture. Barrio Puerto is the oldest district in all of Valparaiso and still maintains the traditions of two centuries ago!
We'll then make our way to the El Peral elevator to go up to Cerro Alegre while we delve into the legacy of British-German immigration in Valparaíso.
After enjoying an incredible panoramic view, we'll head towards the financial district and take another elevator up to Cerro Cordillera. When we get off the funicular, we'll take you to the Lord Cochrane viewpoint and admire the street art of this area.
The free tour will then take us to Barrio Puerto. Here, we'll visit Liberty, the oldest bar in the Chilean city, and then walk to Echaurren Square to visit Puerto Market. You'll hear the interesting stories of these emblematic places and find out why this market is so famous!
Finally, we'll finish the free tour at Puerto Market at 2:30 pm.
