Las Coloradas and Ek Balam Trip

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Valladolid between 7 and 7:30 am before heading to the picturesque municipality of Río Lagartos where we'll enjoy a 2-hour boat ride on the idyllic Lagartos River.

First, we'll explore this protected environmental reserve on the boat, observing the magnificent flamingos, herons, and pelicans that inhabit it. In the end, you can take a traditional Mayan mud bath - a real treat for the skin! After that, we'll enjoy a typical lunch of a choice of several regional dishes.

At 12:30 pm, feeling reenergized, we'll continue the tour by heading to the enchanting archaeological site Ek Balam. In this Mayan village, we'll encounter walls, pyramids, arches, and a pre-Columbian ball game. After the visit, you'll have free time to continue exploring the vestiges of this great civilization at your own pace.

Finally, we'll return to Valladolid, arriving back at your hotel at around 5:30 pm.

Tuvimos un día único! En el paseo a Río Lagartos vimos flamencos, cocodrilos, pelícanos y un montón de aves. Gilberto, nos enseñó las distintas especies e hizo junto al Capitán que el viaje fuera hermoso. Luego almorzamos muy bien en Río Lagartos. Después fuimos a Ek Balam, y quedamos maravillados! Finalizamos en un cenote, sin duda un día increíble! Ir con un guía como Gilberto, hace la diferencia! Gracias a él por hacer de esta excursión, una de las mejores que realizamos en la península! We had a unique day! On the walk to Río Lagartos we saw flamingos, crocodiles, pelicans and lots of birds. Gilberto, taught us the different species and together with the Captain made the trip beautiful. Then we had a very good lunch in Río Lagartos. Then we went to Ek Balam, and we were amazed! We finished in a cenote, without a doubt an incredible day! Going with a guide like Gilberto makes a difference! Thanks to him for making this excursion one of the best we did on the peninsula! ¡No lo dudes! Fue un día increíble. José, nuestro guía, hizo del día una gran experiencia. Es cercano, gracioso, amable y se preocupaba por el bienestar de todos. Nos iba explicando todo el camino y nos trato de maravilla. Vimos los flamencos, cocodrilos, cigüeñas y muchas aves más. La comida estaba exquisita y nos dieron un snack de melón en la lancha. Do not hesitate! It was an amazing day. José, our guide, made the day a great experience. He is close, funny, kind and cared about everyone's well-being. He was explaining us all the way and treated us wonderfully. We saw flamingos, crocodiles, storks and many more birds. The food was exquisite and they gave us a melon snack on the boat.
