Peñiscola Day Trip
Tour Details
We'll pick you up at the selected meeting point at the indicated time, and start our road trip to Peñiscola, a town located less than 2 hours from Valencia.
Once we arrive, we'll tour the old town, which houses samples of Muslim, Roman, and Templar architecture as we follow the layout of the ancient wall that protected the city. It will be like traveling back in time!
Next, we'll visit the Museum of the Sea and contemplate the imposing Renaissance wall from the time of Philip II. We'll tour its narrow streets, full of stores, and pass by the famous Casa de las Conchas, where we'll learn how this beautiful facade was decorated.
From here, we'll head to the Peñiscola Castle. This fortress, located on top of a rock by the sea, served as a palace and personal library to the famous Pope Luna, one of the most controversial religious figures in the history of Spain. We'll learn why during the tour!
Then, we'll continue the route along the beach of Peñiscola, where we'll leave you free time to enjoy the local gastronomy.
After enjoying a full day exploring this beautiful town in the province of Castellón, we'll head back to Valencia, arriving 8 hours later.
