Why Visit the Hortensia Herrero Art Centre?
The Hortensia Herrero Art Centre is a museum dedicated to the creation of contemporary art located at the Valeriola Palace. This 17th-century building is found at Number 31 on Calle del Mar, right in the historic centre of Valencia.
With your ticket to the Hortensia Herrero Art Centre, you'll visit the different rooms with an audio guide in English of the contemporary art museum. During the tour, you'll admire the amazing exhibitions of sculptures and paintings from the 20th and 21st centuries, belonging to the private collection of Hortensia Herrero art patron.
Among the main works in the permanent exhibition is Tunnel for Unfolding Time, an ensemble of steel, glass, paint and agents created in 2022, by the Danish artist Olafur Eliasson. Another must-see is the grouping of stainless steel letters Tempesta, by Jaume Plensa.
Other important creations on display at the museum include Cristina Iglesias' Mineral Transit, Mat Collishaw's Transformer and Sean Scully's polychrome stained glasses installation Landline Heat, which is sure to surprise you!
In addition to the contemporary art, at the Hortensia Herrero Art Centre, you'll also discover the history of Valencia, where in the Valeriola Palace you'll be able to check out the archaeological remains. These include the remains of a Roman circus, an alley from the old Jewish quarter, a medieval oven and a fountain from the Islamic period.

- From Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm
- Sunday: from 10 am to 2 pm
